Orlando Bloom visits children in war torn Ukraine
Orlando Bloom visits war torn Ukraine as a UNICEF ambassador. Visiting classrooms and children in the Eastern Donbass region Orlando gets a first eye experience into the devastation and seriousness of the humanitarian crisis affecting the area. He speaks with the children and hears their stories and witnesses the conditions they endured with the shelling of their homes.
Currently the situation in war torn Ukraine is quite dire.
- One in five schools has been damaged by shelling
- About 580,000 children are in urgent need of aid
- 230,000 children have been forced from their homes
- And 300,000 children need help to continue with schooling
Not enough is being done to address the situation in country. Summer has arrived and another round of aggression is fast approaching with fresh troops and equipment from across the border. The time to act is now.
Many of these children are living in deplorable conditions and suffer from PTSD due to the experiences they have been put through. Lost homes and family members are a common occurrence and heinous crimes are being committed by mercenaries in the area.
This must stop and help must be provided to these children.
