Almost 8,000 children have been recently adopted from Ukrainian orphanages

With help from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in Ukraine 7,885  children have been placed into homes or family facilities from Ukrainian orphanages. The children have found new parents or have been moved into family type facilities across the nation of Ukraine. These placements were made in thanks to the Ukrainian national adoption portal www.sirotstvy.net. We applaud the efforts of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and their “Say No to Orphanhood” program for their valiant efforts as champions for the children with no voice.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundations “Say No to Orphanhood” program makes it’s top priority the well being of orphans in Ukraine. The main objective of the program makign sure that every child has a voice and a right to a family. The Foundation not only found new families for almost 8,000 orphans, but has built building new family-type housing. They also and provide assistance to families in crisis. This ensures parents do not have to give up their children due to war and economic hardships. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation opened two mother and child care centers in Kiev and Donetsk, a crisis center in Dnipropetrovsk, and is currently operating four family support facilities. The foundation employees also operate 39 family-type homes and currently more than 400 children are living in the units.

Yet, even with the tremendous effort and accomplishments the foundation has been able to achieve there is still so much help that is needed. There are still over 11,00 children on the site without families. Of that number almost 4,000 were added just last year. And with the conflict in Eastern Ukraine there were 1,000 children who lost their parents in the first half of last year. This is only in the government controlled zone. Many more are unaccounted for in the Russian backed region.

With your help we can rescue even more children from Ukrainian orphanages and the hard streets where many have had to call home. Please contact us to pledge your support. Let’s make a difference today.
